Bomb Shelter Plans

Ah yes!  With the nuclear apocalypse and the collapse of civilization as we know it well under way, you might want to consider slapping one of these bad boys in your backyard.

The blast and fallout shelter - it's not just for the cold war any more!  :)

These aren't your dig-a-ditch-and-pray-your-parts-don't-get-sprayed-too-far-for-people-to-find-them plans.  These plans are for steel reinforced concrete shelters.  This type of construction is what's used by the big boys (i.e. countries) to safeguard their VIPs, because it's one of the most durable kinds of construction known.

American Bomb Shelters has made the plans for their engineered shelters available for FREE.  Material lists are also included!

Plans include installation for blast valves, blast doors, NBC filtration and more.  This is a complete in-ground safe-room that would take a direct special munitions hit to take out (and if that happens, that's like getting hit by lightning - it was your day to go).

For about $16k, you get all the parts you need.  That's pretty darn competitive with any of the "pre-manufactured" tube-in-the-ground type shelters

Remember - in the event of nuclear disaster, radiation levels will fall to survivable levels within 30 days, even at ground-zero.  You do need to stay out of the way of the radiation for a period of time, however.  The time to plan on how you're going to accomplish that is now.

Don't come knocking on my door when it's too late.  I'll be hanging out at my shelter watching my solar powered IPod, snacking on delicious freeze dried food!
